1. General part

1.1. The library of Vilnius University is a non academic constituent division of Vilnius University. It is a library of national significance, an institution of science and culture, performing informational, educational and scientific functions.
1.2. The Library work is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania,Government resolutions, Law on Libraries of the Republic of Lithuania, Statute of the University, rulings of the Senate, Rector`s orders, and rules and regulations the Library.
1.3. All Lithuanian citizens, citizens of other countries, institutions and organizations have the right to use the library.
1.4. The library provides the reader with comprehensive information, ensures proper access to all available books and documents.
1.5. The basic services of the Library are provided free of charge. In accordance with the appraisal tarrif approved by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture the Library offers paid services as well. The Price list is confirmed by the Rector of the University.
